We,Instistute for Dalit adivasi Development and Studies ,kerala is a committed forum and an intiative of activists,intellectuals,and dalit Rights activists from Kerala.
IDADS (Institute for Dalit, Adivasi Development and Studies is an organization of collective of Dalit & Adivasi Intellectuals, writers, Activists of Kerala. It is working for more than 15 years in Kerala. IDADS was registered during November 2006. It actively engaged in Empowering Dalits, Adivasi with a rights perspective. IDADS is engaged in overall development work, and conducting research on Dalit issues. Some of the studies include SCP/TSP fund utilization in Kerala, Presently a study on Dalit land less ness is going on (under compilation) …etc. IDADS has also been involved in organizing workshops, seminars and training Programmes for the empowerment of Dalits and Adivasis. Gender aspect is fully integrated in the activities of IDADS.
IDADS is also involved in Tsunami relief and rehabilitation and has extended livelihood support and medical support to the affected with specific focus on Dalits, Adivasis, women and children. IDADS has been engaged in regular media relations and has raised various issues related to Dalit and Adivasi rights. Its a volunteer based network advocating rights issues.At present it is engaged in Dalit students issues ,how to make them better environment for higher studies and give training in personality development ,English proficiency and computer training.
So far we are working with our small income and with support of well wishers.Last four years we didn`t get any support from anywhere, and now we are facing severe financial crisis. We can`t even have bus fare , or rent of small office working in Mavelikara,Kerala.
Before us lot of issues of Dalit human rights violations, women`s issues, students issues etc.. are come up day by day .As we don`t have financial support and resources, our computer centres( Free Computer Training centre for dalit girls ) are also is faced to shut down. So far 360 dalit girls from Different Parts of kerala get trained(Kollam, Aleppey and Ernakulam).Through our interventions 1059 dalit families victims get benefitted from government from it`s Tsunami R&R Programmes .Number of Dalit victims in the atrocity through our legal support , get benefitted from Government. We have a good unit for training and other Capcitation programmes
